The World Scrabble Championships are held every two years. The 2001 event was held in Las Vegas, USA on December 13-17.

The four players pictured were the Australian team for the 2001 World Scrabble Championships (WSC).

Note that Roger Blom was named in the original Australian Team announced in April.  Unfortunately, Roger passed away the following month. His contribution to the standard of the game in Australia is well recognised. He will be missed.
