John Barker had overdrawn possibly because the blank on his rank was hard to see, its colour was similar to the rack. From the eight tiles on his rack he played a seven letter bingo without using the blank! His opponent had recorded the score. It was only then that John announced that he had a blank remaining on his rack. The ruling was that his play stayed, and the TD said that John should replenish his rack with as many tiles as he had played (7). His opponent remedied this overdraw by picking a tile at random to return to the bag. It was the blank.
